GENERAL FAQ
Below is a list of questions that come up quite frequently. Take a second, look them over, and if you still have additional questions give us a call at (619) 231-6700 and we will be happy to help you.
Q: What is The Shout! House?
A: The Shout! House is San Diego’s premier dueling piano bar located in the Gaslamp Quarter. Our high-energy, audience-driven live music show features sing-alongs, comedy, audience interaction, and nonstop entertainment Tuesday through Sunday.
Q: Is The Shout! House 21+?
A: Yes. The Shout! House is strictly 21+ unless otherwise noted for special events. A valid physical photo ID is required for entry.
What is the age range of the attending patrons?
The Shout House appeals to people of all ages. On any given night you will see people celebrating a 21st birthday along side a 50th birthday. The show is adult oriented however, so don’t bring Grandma if she is going to be offended by a few four letter words.

Q: What time does the piano show start?
A:
• Tuesday–Thursday: Doors open at 7PM, pianos start at 8PM
• Friday–Saturday: Doors open at 6PM, pianos start at 6:30PM
• Sunday: Doors open at 6PM, pianos start at 6:30PM
Q: What time does the show end?
A: The show runs nonstop on the weekends until approximately 1:30AM.
Weekdays and Sundays the show ends around midnight, depending on how busy we are.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: We keep things casual and fun. Shorts and flip-flops are welcome. No weapons are permitted, and all bags are subject to inspection.

• Foreign passports
• Government-issued IDs
We do not accept foreign driver’s licenses.
Anyone appearing under 40 may be asked to show ID.
Q: Where are you located?
A: The Shout! House is located in the heart of San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter at:
655 4th Ave, San Diego, CA 92101
Q: Do you offer parking validation?
A: Yes. We offer $12 flat-rate parking validation for the first 3 hours at Horton Plaza Parking Garage with validation from your server or manager. Standard garage rates apply after 3 hours.
Q: Is street parking available?
A: Yes. Metered street parking is available throughout downtown San Diego. Most meters are free after 8PM.
Q: The Shout House is a perfect fit for me. I think I would like to work there. How do I send in my resume?
A: The Shout House is always looking for new talent. If you are a piano player please send your resume to Jon Coyle at Jon@theshouthouse.com along with any other demos or promo materials you have.
As far as other front of the house positions, please E-mail Alastair@theshouthouse.com. We are especially interested in staff that have some sort of musical or dance experience.
Q: DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-INS?
A: Yes, we do accept walk-ins. Reservations are recommended for guaranteed seating. When tables are unavailable, walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy standing room at the bar. As tables open up throughout the night, seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q: Do you offer any discounts or promotions?
A: Yes! The Shout! House offers several ongoing promotions and discounts throughout the week.
Current Discounts & Promos Include:
• Free cover for Military walk-ins with valid Military ID (Tue–Sun)
• Free cover for Students with valid Student ID (Tue–Sun)
• Free cover for Service Industry walk-ins on Sundays with pay stub or business card
• Local Heroes Discount for Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Nurses, Teachers & First Responders (Tue–Sun with valid work ID or badge)
• $12 Flat-Rate Parking for 3 hours at Horton Parking Garage with validation

RESERVATIONS FAQ
Q: Do I need reservations?
A: Reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends and for birthdays, bachelorette parties, and large groups. We typically get sold out for table reservations on Fridays and Saturdays 1-2 weeks in advance. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability.
Q: How do reservations work?
A: Reservations for parties of 2–24 guests can be booked online. Reservation fees secure your table and are charged at the time of booking
Q: Can I make reservations after 7PM?
A: Reservation cut-off times vary by day:
• Tuesday–Thursday: 7:45PM
• Friday & Sunday: 6:45PM
• Saturday: 6:30PM
Q: When will my card be charged?
A: Credit cards are charged when the reservation is made.
Q: What if I need to cancel my reservation?
A: Reservations canceled at least 48 hours in advance receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future date.
Q: What if I want to add people to my reservation?
A: We’ll do our best to accommodate additional guests based on availability. Call us at (619) 231-6700 or reply to your confirmation email as early as possible.
Q: How much are reservation fees?
A:
• Tuesday & Wednesday: No reservation fee
• Thursday: $5 per person
• Friday: $15 per person
• Saturday: $20 per person
• Sunday: $5 per person
• Sundays before holidays: $10 per person
Q: Can I reserve tables for large groups?
A: Yes. For groups larger than 24 guests, we recommend booking one of our VIP Packages or contacting us about a private event.
Q: Do you have a waitlist for sold out nights?
A: Yes. Join the waitlist and we’ll contact you if cancellations become available.

Fridays and Saturdays often book 1–2 weeks in advance. Reserve your table before spots fill up.

Q: Do you offer VIP Packages?
A: Yes! Our VIP Packages are designed for birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate outings, and celebrations of all kinds.
Packages may include:

Q: Can I celebrate a birthday at The Shout! House?
A: Absolutely. The Shout! House is one of San Diego’s top birthday celebration destinations. VIP Packages are available for groups looking for an upgraded experience.

FOOD & DRINKS FAQ
Q: Do you serve food?
A: Yes. We offer a full dinner menu featuring appetizers, burgers, flatbreads, salads, and entrées.
Q: Can I bring a cake?
A: Yes. You are welcome to bring your own cake. We do not charge a cake-cutting fee.
Q: Can I bring outside alcohol?
A: No outside alcohol is permitted. Our full bar offers cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty drinks available throughout the show.
Q: WHAT KIND OF DRINK SPECIALS DOES THE SHOUT HOUSE OFFER?
A: The Shout House is very affordable compared to the other venues downtown. Please refer to the daily specials on our Home Page

Enjoy burgers, flatbreads, appetizers, cocktails, beer, and late-night bites while you sing along all night long.

Do you host private events?
A: Yes. We host corporate events, birthdays, bachelor & bachelorette parties, holiday parties, and full venue buyouts (Max capacity 282 Guests).
Q: Do you offer off-site dueling piano shows?
A: Yes. Our Road Show brings The Shout! House experience to private venues and events throughout Southern California.
Q: I would like to have the piano players perform for my company party in Palm Springs. How do I make that happen?
A: Our dueling piano show is available for off-site events. Let us custom make a show for your party (corporate parties, Weddings, any occasion.) If you have ever experienced a dueling piano club, you know that the material can sometimes be adult oriented. We guarantee our talent will perform to the standards that you or your company prefers.
